Most days I have a plan… I know what it is that I want to do, how long it will take, and when I’m going to start. But there are others days I just don’t know what I want. I know I need to workout, but I just don’t know which workout to do. That sounds silly, huh?
It’s actually important though because in my experience I’ve discovered oftentimes when I don’t have a plan in place I tend to “skip” the workout or I choose the fast food dinner. So I try to have a plan when it comes to working out and eating. Life is busy … Sometimes things work out according to the plan…. Sometimes they don’t. In my case “skipping a workout” is not the same as a planned rest day. My rule of thumb is to workout anywhere between 3-5 days a week. My usual guaranteed rest day is Sunday and one other during the week; however, I allow for an extra rest day if I feel it is necessary.
Today I knew I wanted to exercise and I really wanted to run or wun as I call it (run/walk), but there were things in life getting in the way today, such as: my allergy shot. My allergist doesn’t want me running or walking on days I have my allergy shots 😔. So I had to opt for something else, but honestly nothing else appealed to me. I ended up grabbing the jump rope to get my cardio in and while my jump roping skills are a little rusty, I think I did pretty good. Half way in the middle I did a minute of jumping jacks and then back to the jump rope. I ended my workout with another minute of jumping jacks, push-ups, get-ups, & a wimpy plank 😊.
Each day is a brand new day to try to get it right, to improve and get better and better.
Still working to strengthen my right calf, but I feel great. Time for a shower and enjoy the rest of this day!!
Make this last Tuesday in 2014 count!! Keep it healthy, safe, happy, & fun!! 👍
